Good Morning CEMA, Field Management, and State Recovery Task Force,
Ouray County is seeking a full-time Recovery Manager to help lead and coordinate the County’s long-term recovery efforts following the Gold Mountain Fire and subsequent flooding and debris flow events.
This is an important position that will work directly with Ouray County Emergency Management, county departments, impacted residents and property owners, municipalities, special districts, nonprofit and volunteer organizations, and our state and federal partners.
The Recovery Manager will play a central role in coordinating the many programs, projects, funding opportunities, and community needs associated with what will be a multi-year recovery effort. Responsibilities will include coordinating recovery and mitigation projects, assisting with damage assessment and infrastructure recovery, identifying and managing funding opportunities, coordinating with state and federal agencies, supporting community recovery efforts, and helping develop the County’s long-term recovery strategy.
We are looking for someone who is organized, able to manage multiple complex projects at the same time, communicates well with both the public and government partners, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.

Salary Range: $62,454.95 – $81,972.12
FLSA Status: Exempt
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required. A degree in Accounting, Business, Construction Management, or a related field is a plus. Experience with project management, disaster recovery, grants, construction, government programs, FEMA, NRCS, or similar state and federal programs would also be valuable.
This position provides a unique opportunity for someone to make a direct and lasting difference in Ouray County. Recovery from the Gold Mountain Fire and the flooding and debris flows that followed will take several years, and we are looking for someone who can help our community navigate that process from immediate recovery through long-term rebuilding and mitigation.
