El Paso County is seeking an experienced emergency management professional to support whole-community preparedness and operational response across one of Colorado’s most complex regions. This position is based within the Pikes Peak Regional Office of Emergency Management (PPROEM) and plays a key role in advancing regional readiness, coordination, and resilience. The position is supported through program funding and is expected to continue based on ongoing operational needs and funding.


This is a hands-on, operational role for a professional with experience in all-hazards planning, exercise development and facilitation, and cross-jurisdictional coordination. The position requires the ability to step into leadership roles during Emergency Coordination Center (ECC) activations, regular in-person presence, and participation in a rotating on-call duty officer schedule with the ability to respond within one hour during emergent events. Ideal candidates bring sound judgment under pressure, strong collaboration skills, and a clear commitment to public service and meaningful community impact.
