Delta County, Colorado is seeking an energetic, community driven individual to join our Emergency Management Team at the Sheriff’s Office as the Emergency Management Coordinator. This position is integral to expanding preparedness capabilities and working with the whole-community to develop robust plans that build resilience and response capacity. We are seeking someone who enjoys working collaboratively inside the County and with external stakeholders to accomplish a unified mission, someone who is a self-starter, loves what they do and has experience working on complex projects, and grants. The ideal candidate understands emergency management, and all the challenges that comes with preparing rural jurisdictions to mitigate the effects of, prepare for, respond to and recover from incidents.

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR

GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Emergency Management Coordinator will lead a variety of professional duties in support of Emergency Management to help Delta County prepare for, protect and mitigate against, respond to and recover from natural and man-made disasters. This position will lead several critical areas of emergency preparedness including development and maintenance of emergency plans, development of hazardous material response plans and capabilities, lead the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC), assist with the Integrated Preparedness Plan; and provide community outreach to share preparedness messages with the Delta County community.
Hiring Salary Range:
$62,130 annually
