ABOUT THE POSITION
This position serves as Director of the Office of Emergency Management, with supervisory and managerial oversight over all current programs and staff within the office. This position exists to support the Director of the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management by providing leadership and oversight for the Office of Emergency Management. This position ensures the overall objectives of the Division and of the Office are met. This position establishes goals and objectives for the Office that are consistent with the Goals of the Division and the Department of Public Safety. This position administers the Division's resources in an efficient manner and within budgetary constraints. This position evaluates state and federal statutory changes and recommends modifications to rules and policies that affect the Office’s programs. This position serves as a member of the Colorado Emergency Planning Commission. This position is the State Liaison to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and will serve as the Governor's Authorized Representative (GAR) or designated Alternate GAR, and State Coordinating Officer (SCO) or designated Deputy SCO for disposition of federal disaster assistance.
